london was calling again

Oh Yes, before knowing I was definitely going back to Brazil because the situation of my visa, we [my boyfriend and I] had booked all trip to London. For me it would be an opportunity of visit the city, 10 years after my first step on it. The first impression I had about England was because London trip at 1998. I never forgot that crazy city which people around the world chose to live on.

What would be different in this trip is that I am 10 years older. Of course it was completely different! From streets to the people! One of the greatest things I wanted to do was to visit Abbey Road. I never did at the first time I was in London so this time I needed to do it badly! And what amazing experience. All the cars stops when you are about to cross the famous zebra crossing! I made a video of it.

Another great thing to do in London is going to Covent Garden and having a good pub meal. The pints are pricey, but you can enjoy a round with friends and it is worthy! We had some great pubs visiting around the city with special friends. I would say that I also found the biggest fish & chip shop of earth at Candem Town! Bonkers! I just didn’t ask for it because I heard fish & chips in London are not that great as the Walsall one!

Another great thing in London is something like this, for example. . You can find everything you want without going too far! The shops are unusual and even it is a big store indeed just London can be so multicultural. Not to mention that I can hear Portuguese speakers all the time. And I also can say that Oxford Street It is like a 25th of March st. in Sao Paulo.

It is not an exaggerated comparison. There are so much people on it and so many camelôs that sometimes it is impossible to walk by the streets.

So the best option is always to find the pub and stay in. The one we found in Candem was absolutely fantastic.Great atmosphere and nice soundtrack , of course!

The weather was beautiful, proper summer time, and since it was summer and staying at travelodges always is a good option if you don’t mind about luxury or posh staying in lol

We had plenty of underground trips during our London days and it is worthy if you have a big distance but remember that London has plenty of things to see by walking and the proper messages on tube-which is always full of tourists 24/7- encourage us to walk around the city.

My favourite place in London this time would be The school of Life visiting that just didn’t work because it was closed during August and I didn’t have a clue about it. Bugger! It would be amazing to visit the place where Alain de Botton puts spread all his inspiration on. Not to mention this is nearby the hotel I stayed in when I visit London for the first time, 10 years ago.

London is something, anyway. And if you have time or money in your pocket, it means to be visited every time you fancy it. Next post is about London yet, but it is about the day i have visted the huge and wonderful Wembley!

A Bonzo’s visit

Hello you all, since I went back to Brazil I never had time to update my blog about my Uk life. Now, after 4 months since I am out of my Brummie life, I still have plenty of things to say about this experience.

One of the finest moments of my life there was probably the day when I visit John Bonzo’s graveyard. I don’t know if you all know but I have this passion about visiting graveyards and in Europe you luckily have plenty of chance of visiting some famous ones.

One of them had a lot of meaning for me. And I even know I would be visiting it because it was a surprise made by my boyfriend. John Bonzo Bonham, if you know a bit about rock and roll, is one of the legendary drummers of rock. Unfortunately, he is already dead. But I was lucky enough to live nearby the place where he is since his death, in Rushock , a tiny little village in the middle of the Midlands.

When I had visited it I had no ideas where I was going because Rob is known as the greatest finder person ever. If you give him a map he can find the best shot cut to moon in some seconds. So I thought we were going through the countryside by car. But when I realized we stopped in front a graveyard, I definitely knew it was a special one. And it was fantastic.

Tiny little graveyard with a beautiful church by its side! To find John’s grave is pretty much easy. Just follow the rock and roll items around this. It is unbelievable how people around the world come from different parts of the globe just to let in that place some kind of souvenirs that I believe, they are not just presents but something to be blessed by him as well. For example, there are plenty of drum sticks around the grave.

Some of them are signed. I believe it is a kind of drummer ritual when they believe that bringing their drum stick as a gift can give them a bit of bonzo’s magic skills. We never know, If I were playing drums yet I would bring mine.

Another curious item is a bottle of vodka. Yes, if you know a bit about Bonzo’s life you would understand why some people left there some finest or not bottles of the spirit. I just left one of my bracelets over there and I hope I can visit it again to realize it is still there, something that I would like to do one day again. I don’t know how to describe this experience I just know that it was one of the best moments of my life and I could even imagine doing something like this when I was 12 years old and I started to listen to rock and roll bands such as Led Zeppelin.
